Support us: defend reps

Support for our campaign to defend victimised union reps - including requests for support from us, and messages of support from others!

Reintate Petrit Mihaj - Demo Sodexo HQ 17/4/15 @1130

We are campaigning against victimisation, discrimination, union busting and dismissal of our colleague and union representative Petrit Mihaj.
It’s been over a year since our rep Petrit Mihaj was victimised for his Trade Union (TU) activities and unfairly dismissed as proven in court. (Ref: P Mihaj v Sodexo Ltd)
Our campaign continues into its second year. After many successful demonstrations in 2014 and 2015, The RMT is stepping up this campaign by asking MP’s and candidates in the General Election campaign to stop funding racist and union busting employers.

Why is London Underground sponsoring a complaint made by the owner of this offensive avatar that adorns the twitter account of the ludicrously named "busting4aslash"? Mr. Slash is a troll. Mr. Slash has
an offensive avatar, that depicts what would be, if done in real life, a criminal offence, for sure.

STOP ATTACKING OUR REPS!

It looks like LUL are going back on their promise after the RMT successfully defended RMT H&S rep Eamonn Lynch and former RMT rep Arwyn Thomas. Now they are trying to sack Gary Woolf - I.R. rep on the Tower Hill group

London Underground Management Want To Choose Your Rep

It appears that LUL have now decided that they will choose who can and can not be a local rep. Management have refused to recognise Industrial Relations rep Jason Moriarty. An email was sent to Management at Stratford from Employee relations stating "I am of the view that he can not be rep again" and "There is no recognition rights for RMT at north Greenwich."

This is of course nonsense as there has been an RMT IR rep at North Greenwich since it opened and the collective bargaining agreement is very clear about who can be a rep.

MPs Back Our Fight for Reinstatement of Reps

“I am appalled that London Underground are refusing to reinstate Arwyn Thomas and Eamonn Lynch, when the Employment Tribunal has already ruled that their dismissal was discriminatory because of their trade union activities. It is vital that we stand up for our local trade union reps who are in the frontline of protecting workers interests and I fully support the RMT’s political and industrial campaign for justice for Arwyn and Eamonn.”
Jeremy Corbyn MP, Islington North

Message of Support for Arwyn Thomas

Last night our branch agreed to send a message of solidarity to Arwyn Thomas, his branch and the RMT in the fight to get the charges against Arwyn dropped.

This is a clear attack on the rights of trade unionists to organise and be active in the workplace - an attack on one is an attack on us all, whatever union you are in.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do.

And please can you pass on this message to Arwyn and his branch

In solidarity
