TfL Reps Discuss New Christmas Arrangements Policy

TfL

We note the correspondence from Transport for London. However, having spoken to our representatives, we understand that although the policy may be the same as in previous years, the practice has abruptly changed.

We instruct the General Secretary to obtain the views of our TfL no.1 branch on this matter and place these in front of us.

We note the resolution from our London Transport Regional Council and share its concern about the treatment of Occupational Health staff. We instruct the General Secretary to ensure that this issue is taken up with Transport for London in line with the resolution, and ask the Regional Council to report to us on its progress with pursuing this issue.

TFL Restructuring And Staff Reductions Policy

This document is for "Employees of TfL, Docklands Light Railway Limited, Rail for London Limited, London Bus Services Limited, London Buses Limited, Victoria Coach Station Limited who are on TfL employment contracts (Pay bands 1 – 5) and those staff on predecessor organisation employment contracts where the individual has transferred to the employment of TfL. For the avoidance of doubt this policy does not apply to employees of London Underground and operational employees in Surface Transport."

It covers the following:

TFL Market Testing Opposition Campaign Strenghtened

TfL

Further to our decision of Thursday 8 November, we note the report of the views of our TfL no.1 branch on this issue.

Accordingly, we instruct the General Secretary to:

  1. table this issue for discussion at the next meeting of TfL Company Council
  2. assist the branch with the production and distribution of a newsletter on this and other TfL issues
  3. provide a concise guide to 'what is market testing' and the dangerous implications of it
  4. lobby potentially-supportive TfL Board members about this matter.

RMT Rejects TFL Pay Offer For 2012:

TfL

We note the views of our TfL no.1 branch on the pay offer from Transport for London.

We affirm the branch’s view that RMT should not accept TfL's pay offer. We do not support Performance-Related Pay, and we will not endorse part of our members' pay rise in the second year of this deal being conditional on us accepting a PRP policy that we have not even seen yet.

RMT is disappointed that other unions have accepted the offer and not taken up our request to pursue our concerns.

Executive Decision On CSS Bonus Payments To Members Transferred To TFL Under 'Project Horizon'

TfL

From General Secretary Bob Crow

Branches are advised that correspondence has been received concerning TFL’s failure to pay the CSS (Customer Satisfaction Survey) bonus to staff that had transferred from LUL to TfL under Project Horizon. This matter has now been considered by the General Grades Committee which has made the following decision:-

RMT Has Serious Concerns Despite 2012 Pay Rise Offer From TFL Being Slightly Improved

We note the revised pay offer from Transport for London. Although this does contain some improvements on the original offer, RMT representatives continue to have serious concerns, including:

  • the maximum of 5% on next year’s pay rise, which sets a bad precedent and would leave our members facing a pay cut should RPI be higher than this;
  • the additional 0.5% for 2013 being dependant on acceptance of a new Performance- Related Pay scheme
  • that the 75% Rail Reimbursement Scheme continues to be renewed within pay deals rather than made permanent

At my meeting with Leon Daniels I was able to raise numerous points concerning the treatment of Surface Transport staff during the Olympic Period. I would like to thank all who contributed with items raised.

TfL Olympics Strike Action

RMT members working directly for Transport for London will be taking strike action from 0659 Friday 3rd August until 0700 Saturday 4th August over the total and abject failure of the organisation to offer any kind of recognition and reward for the increase in workload and pressure arising from the extended Olympics period and for attempting to impose changes to working conditions and a unilateral ban on annual leave in some departments.
