We instruct the General Secretary to ensure that this union continues to seek updated information from TfL on this process, ensuring full disclosure of information to which we are entitled, and to challenge any resulting attacks on or holding back of our members’ terms and conditions.

Free Travel Facilities, Emirates Airline Cable Car & Thames Riverboat Services
Submitted by admin on 20 February, 2013 - 03:22We note the response from TfL, which falls short of our members’ justified aspiration for free travel on these services. We instruct the General Secretary to ensure that this matter is tabled for discussion with the employer(s), and to seek a joint approach with the other unions.
We also note the report on our efforts to organise the workforce on the Emirates Air Line. We instruct the General Secretary to provide full support and resources for these efforts, and to place regular progress reports in front of us.

RMT Continues To Monitor 'Market Testing' At TfL Following Assurances
Submitted by admin on 20 February, 2013 - 02:58We note the correspondence from London Underground Ltd regarding TfL market testing. While this offers some reassurance that this is simply a ‘benchmarking activity’ and that no decision has been made to privatise the functions involved, we are well aware that ‘market testing’ is used to keep down pay, conditions and staffing in the public sector body as much as it is used to prepare for privatisation.
We therefore instruct the General Secretary to ensure that this issue continues to be raised with TfL and developments monitored and placed in front of us.
RMT Demands Free Travel For Licensed Taxi Drivers
Submitted by admin on 20 February, 2013 - 02:49We note the information on file regarding free and reduced travel facilities for employees of TfL and its subsidiaries and franchisees.
We note that we still need to collate information on these facilities for employees of contractors, as instructed in our previous decisions, and instruct the General Secretary to obtain this.
We note that the original resolution on this issue called for the provision of free travel facilities for licensed taxi drivers, and instruct the General Secretary to ensure that this demand is tabled to the relevant body.
RMT Appalled By Poor Pay Rise Offered To TfL Members; Following No Olympic Bonus
Submitted by admin on 15 February, 2013 - 03:03We note the report from our representatives’ meeting, and are appalled that many of our members have received an RPI-only pay rise for this year while their workmates on both TfL and LUL have received RPI+0.5%. This adds insult to the injury of having received no Olympics payment.
We note that RMT rejected this pay deal but that other trade unions agreed it.
We instruct the General Secretary to:
- raise this issue with TfL as a matter of urgency, and escalate it through the machinery as far as is necessary
London Transport Museum Job Cuts Announcement Expected
Submitted by admin on 15 February, 2013 - 02:59We note the report of the discussion at our representatives’ meeting, and that we may expect an announcement of cuts very soon.
We resolve to step up this union’s campaigning against these cuts, and instruct the General Secretary to ensure a higher-profile RMT presence at protest events.
We oppose any cuts in jobs, and instruct the General Secretary to raise with the employer that vacancies in permanent posts should be filled rather than covered with agency or temporary staff.
