Every Job Matters Strikes Continue

EVERY JOB MATTERS – DEFENDING JOBS ON LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/5)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/158, 3rd July 2015), members are congratulated for taking part in the significant strike action on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th July and I urge all LU Station Staff to continue this fight against the decimation of jobs and conditions on London Underground. There is currently a stalemate situation as LUL have said we can have input but there are simply not enough people left in the mix after the unacceptable job losses to resolve the issues over unacceptable displacements, unacceptable rosters and unacceptable changes to members’ terms and conditions.

As a result, the decision has been taken to call the further industrial action detailed below. All Station Grades members are instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:-

18:30 hours on Wednesday 5th August and 18:29 hours on Thursday 6th August 2015

The previous instruction NOT TO WORK ANY OVERTIME until further notice also remains in place and is fully supported by members, resulting in a number of occasions where staff availability to run services is severely impacted. The Company should now recognise the clear need for all Stations to be properly staffed at all times, rather than imposing massive cuts which will leave the network dangerously understaffed.

As always, the Union is available for talks aimed at resolving this dispute and at the time of writing, your RMT negotiating team is attending further discussions at ACAS. I will of course keep you advised of all further developments.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
