SUPPORT FITTER GRADE – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/2/2)

Discussions with the Company have taken place regarding the entry level grade within the Electrical Team in the Stations and Structural Maintenance Function and in particular whether the role should be Support Fitter or Support Technician. Your Union claimed that staff in the Electrical Team were subject to the Signals Framework Agreement and the entry level grade within that Agreement was the Support Technician role.

The Company has given a proposal to review the appropriate entry grade within the Electrical Team and subject to the outcome of that review, the Signals Framework Agreement would be amended to reflect any agreed changes to the grading structure. It was also proposed that the existing Support Fitters are upgraded to Support Technicians to reflect the existing terms of the Signals Framework Agreement.

The General Grades Committee has considered this matter and, having noted the views of the LU Engineering Branch and Functional Council Reps, has taken the decision to accept the proposals.
