RMT Opposed To Fit for the Future Supervisor Training

RMT reps at the Fit for the Future Joint Working Party have raised our opposition to this process. There is no agreement with any trade union to proceed with these development events. However, LU has imposed this process as it starts to implement Fit for the Future while refusing to enter into meaningful negotiations.

We have pointed out that requiring supervisors to complete on-line exercises prior to the event is potentially discriminatory to those supervisors in busier locations or where operational demands make that difficult. We reject any suggestion that members should have to work in our own time to prepare for any organisational change, let alone a programme of job and pay cuts that we do not accept and has not been agreed.

We have been told that how SS1/SS2s perform in these events could impact on where you are displaced to. SSMF/SS3s will have to take part in the events and “develop” their people management skills while actually facing DOWNGRADING to CSS2 and having no route to CSM grades.

Please keep up to date with RMT’s responses to Fit for the Future plans by visiting londoncalling.org.uk and reading the regular bulletins that we are circulating.
