Arrangements For Saturday's TUC Demonstration In London

Preparing for the march
We recommend that you bring some food and a bottle of water although there will also be many shops and cafes open on the route. Be prepared for a long day with appropriate clothing for the changeable weather. Hyde Park tends to get very muddy with a lot of people on the site.

On your arrival
Please head to Victoria Embankment for 11am and look out for RMT stewards near Temple Tube Station.

Nearest Tube stations
Temple tube (which is likely to be closed as the area gets busy)
Embankment tube
Charing Cross tube
Blackfriars tube and mainline
Holborn tube
Waterloo tube and mainline
* Please note there are a number of tube closures and disruptions that are outlined at the end of this email

Regalia
Please bring any RMT regalia that you may already have with you as we are only bringing a limited supply on the day as we cannot transport any surplus from the march start afterwards. RMT stewards will be on hand from 07:30, so if you are in London early you will be very welcome to come down to the assembly point to pick up any regalia you need.

Route of the march
See attached map. The march will head to Parliament Square, up Whitehall towards Trafalgar Sq., over to Regent St; down Piccadilly and enter Hyde Park. Nearest toilets: Embankment Station and Trafalgar Sq. (more toilets in Hyde Park).

Rally
There will be a rally in Hyde Park from 13:30 to around 16:00. Refreshments in the Park will be on sale from the Park authorities.

Updates for mobile phones
Updates on the day for smartphones are being provided via The TUC Live app which is free for Android, iPhones and iPads, and can be downloaded from Apple’s App Store for iPhone, or Google Play for Android. Just search either store for ‘TUC Live’.
There will also be updates via Twitter @futurethatworks.

I hope that you will be joining RMT colleagues with your family and friends on the day so that we can send a clear message that we are not prepared to accept the attacks on our jobs, services and communities.
