March Against Austerity On October 20th With The RMT - Event Details

Reminder: Join the National Demonstrations against Austerity – 20th October 2012

There are just under four weeks to go before the national demonstrations against austerity on Saturday 20 October.

Join RMT colleagues in what promises to be a historic and enjoyable day of protest. Bring your family and friends and send a clear message that we are not prepared to accept the attacks on our jobs, services and communities.

London
The London demonstration assembles from 11:00am at Embankment for a march to Hyde Park.

  • For transport from the Midlands RMT has chartered a train for members. The train departs Sheffield at 07:23 and calls at Derby and Leicester before arriving at London St Pancras at 10:15. A train has been booked for the return journey too which will leave London St Pancras at 16:45. Tickets are £10 return for members or £20 for non members. Members are asked to contact their branch or regional office if they want a ticket.
  • For transport from the North West a train has been chartered jointly organised with Aslef and other unions. It will be leaving from Liverpool and stopping at Runcorn. Times and stopping arrangements are being finalised. Tickets are £10 return for members or £20 for non members. Members are asked to contact their branch or regional office if they want a ticket.
  • For additional transport arrangements get in touch with your Regional Office who will be able to advise of local arrangements.

Glasgow
The Glasgow demonstration assembles at 11:00am for a march to Glasgow Green. The assembly point is yet to be announced.

Belfast
The Belfast demonstration assembles at 11:00am at UA Art College on York Street for a march to Custom House Square.
