RMT Tells London Underground "Talk or Face Dispute" over Stations Issues
RMT General Grades Committee decision:
We note the report from our Regional Organiser that London Underground Ltd claims that our request to attend ACAS on this matter is still receiving its attention, nearly a month after we made the request. We remind LUL that the agreed Machinery of Negotiation requires the company to co-operate with referrals to ACAS. In line with our Regional Organiser’s recommendation, we instruct the General Secretary to write to London Underground Ltd advising the company that we expect it to confirm within seven days that it will attend ACAS with us on this issue. Should the company fail to do so, this union will be in dispute with LUL over this issue.
We emphasise that the issues involved – the continued use of agency staff on stations and the counting of ICSAs towards minimum staffing numbers of stations – are extremely important, to our members, to industrial relations, and to service standards and safety on London Underground.
London Transport Regional Council and branches to be advised.
