The following resolution submitted by the Bakerloo line Branch and seconded by Finsbury Park was carried unanimously at the Regional Council meeting on the 25th August:
This Regional Council notes that LU wish to extend the driving parameters and amount of turns worked on the Bakerloo Line to 6 during the Olympics next year. We are also aware that management wish to bring in rest day working during that period.
This Regional Council believes that any extension of the hours worked on trains and rest day working will be unsafe and will give a precedent to LU to bring in similar changes to drivers framework agreements at a future date.
This Regional Council agrees to oppose any such moves and mandates our representatives accordingly”

TUBE UNION RMT confirmed today that driver members at a range of depots serving the Hammersmith and City, Metropolitan and Circle Lines will be taking industrial action in a dispute arising from the introduction of the new S Stock fleet.
In separate ballots conducted over the past two weeks, tube drivers, cleaners and TFL electricians and engineers have voted overwhelmingly for action in a series of disputes over attacks on agreements and working conditions, pay and threatened redundancies.
