Privilege Travel - TfL / London Underground

RMT General Grades Committee decision:

We note that our members have faced stealth increases in charges for family members who have privilege travel entitlements, and note our previous decision to raise this issue with management in order to secure the return of previous arrangements.

We note the report from our Regional Organiser and accept his recommendation that this issue be included in our pay and conditions claim to TfL in 2012. We instruct the General Secretary to ensure that this happens.

However, we note that the pay claim we submit to TfL is only for TfL employees, not for London Underground employees. Dependant on what settlement is reached for London Underground pay this year, there may not be a pay claim to LU in 2012. We note that the GGC decision on 4 May 2010 instructed the General Secretary to raise the issue of changes to privilege travel arrangements with London Underground. We therefore instruct the General Secretary to report to us on the outcome of his representations to London Underground, and to ascertain whether this issue also affects members in other companies owned, franchised or contracted by TfL.
