Every Job Matters - Strike Dates Announced

Dear Colleague,

EVERY JOB MATTERS – DEFENDING JOBS ON LONDON UNDERGROUND

WEEK OF ACTION – SUNDAY 7TH – SATURDAY 13TH FEBRUARY 2016

Further to previous correspondence where I advised you that RMT would be organising a Week of Action for our LUL Station Grades members between Sunday 7th and Saturday 13th February, the National Executive Committee has considered what form this action should take and instructs all RMT Station Grades NOT TO BOOK ON FOR SHIFTS between the following times:-

•    21:00 hours on Saturday 6th February 2016 and 20:59 hours on Monday 8th February 2016.

NB: To comply with legal advice the overtime ban is suspended for the duration of the strike but will commence again immediately after the strike ends.

ALL STRIKE ACTION PREVIOUSLY CALLED (Tuesday 26th January to Wednesday 27th January, Monday 15th February to Tuesday 16th February, Wednesday 17th Febuary to Thursday 18th February 2016) IS SUSPENDED.

Also, the National Executive Committee will meet again next week to consider more action that could include further strike action, a higher grade working ban and other forms of action short of strike action. I urge you all to stand firm together and support the action to make sure our message is heard loud and clear by London Underground and also the travelling public, where it is already demonstrated that the majority of the public want stations staffed properly and ticket offices to remain open.

Your RMT National Executive Committee members also attended the mass meeting of Reps on Monday 25th January and it is clear from the feedback received at that meeting that LUL’s Fit for the Future Stations plan is NOT FIT FOR ANYTHING and as it represents such huge changes to your jobs it must be fit for purpose and agreed before it is implemented.

Our demands to LUL on Fit for the Future Stations are simple – NO IMPOSED ROSTERS, NO SHORT NOTICE DUTY CHANGES ON COVER WEEKS AND NO IMPOSED NEW FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT.

SUPPORT THE ACTION
STAND FIRM TOGETHER – UNITY IS STRENGTH

Yours sincerely
