2nd Jan 'Happy New Fare Rise' protests, location and times

Dear Colleagues

HAPPY NEW FARES RISE PROTESTS

Thank you to everyone who has helped organise these important protests.

'Happy new year' it isn't as passengers face price hikes and guards and other members working in the rail industry suffer unprecedented attacks from the Government and employers - ranging from the spread of driver only operation, cuts to infrastructure work, ticket office closures and de-staffing of stations.

We need to take this message to the public and our demand for a safe, accessible and secure railway to the passengers just as the fare rise kicks in. If you can help or assist branches at the following stations then please try and get along. Every bit of support is always really appreciated.

On the 2nd January 2018 let's make the case for a network owned and run in the interest of everyone and not the current system under which privateers profit from introducing driver only operation, big fares rises and by threatening other members' jobs.

Once again thank you all for your determination and activism over the last year and all the very best for the festive season and the new year.

Yours sincerely,

Mick Cash
General Secretary
