Dear Colleagues
There will be a protest outside Initial-Rentokil offices in Brunswick place [Old Street tube exit 1] on 11th October at 12 noon to 1 pm.This protest has been called against Initials union busting tactics which include bring cleaners into their offices on the pretence of having a grievance hearing and then calling the police to arrest them.
The RMT cannot stand idly by and allow this crude intimidation to continue. Come and show solidarity with our cleaner members on Monday 11th
Many thanks
Steve Hedley Regional Organiser

Bob Crow, RMT General Secretary, writes ...
RMT Parliamentary Convenor John McDonnell MP has introduced a Bill to prevent employers blocking the democratic wishes of trade union members who have voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action. The union movement has called a mass lobby of Parliament in support of John’s Bill on Wednesday 13th October; we want to ensure that the RMT has a massive presence on the day. Please put this date in your diary now and make every effort to attend.
The coalition government’s massive spending cuts will hit the vulnerable, undermine vital services and threaten both private and public sector jobs.
Every single RMT member and their families will be affected. The cuts will hammer the industries we work in and the services we use.
On Tuesday 19 October, the day before the Comprehensive Spending Review, the TUC is bringing together workers from all over the country to make it clear that ordinary people did not cause the crisis and to campaign for an alternative. Please join the rally and lobby of parliament.
On Saturday, we will be marching against cuts. So on Thursday, we will be giving out leaflets encouraging people to join us on the march. Please come and help if you can.
With the backing of a growing number of other London trade unions, the London Transport region of the RMT has called a march from Unity House, 39 Chalton Street NW1, on Saturday 23rd October 2010 to support the South East Anti-Cuts Rally at Congress House, Great Russell Street, WC1.
RMT members and supporters will be leafleting passengers at several London stations on Friday morning from 8am. We will be dishing out thousands of leaflets explaining our case against cuts in London Underground staffing, and asking people to make their opposition known by sending off a 'protest postcard'. Please join us at one of the following stations: Earls Court, Finsbury Park, Kings Cross, Liverpool Street, Manor House, Oxford Circus, Victoria
