Deadline for resolutions and delegates' registration for the union's Health & Safety Conference.
I am pleased to advise you that we will be holding the RMT Young Members’ Conference in Liverpool on Friday 26th February & Saturday 27th February 2010, with a social event being held at 1900 on Thursday 25th February 2010.
Branches are invited and encouraged to submit resolutions to the conference. These must be relevant to Young Members in the union.

Our TfL members are still faced with
- a three year pay deal linked to an unpredictable RPI figure
- unprecedented job cuts
- bullying of reps & activists
- unfair treatment of members in disciplinaries & medical redeployment/termination hearings
RMT members there have had two days of strike action & have been in dispute for some ten months now.
Venue: Exmouth Arms, Starcross Street, near Euston.
A meeting for all stations and revenue reps and activists to discuss what is going on in your workkplace, to hear reports from and give feedback to level 2 / tier 2 reps, and to plan our campaigning against job cuts and for a better deal for staff.
Meetings will take place on the first Wednesday of every month; same time, same venue.
The next meeting of the Hammersmith and City line branch will take place on Wednesday 3rd February from 5pm at The Exmouth Arms, 1, Starcross Street, Euston, London, NW1 2HR
The nearest tube stations are Euston and Euston Square.
The Central Line West Branch meeting takes place on Thursday 4th February 2010 from 4pm-6pm. The meeting will be at The Redan, 1, Westbourne Grove, London, W2 4UA. Nearest tube stations are Queensway and Bayswater. For a map click here
An RMT London Busworkers Committee meeting will take place on Monday 8th February 2010 between 5pm -7pm at The Bulstrode public house, 55, Lampton Road, Hounslow, TW3 1JG. The pub is situated next to Hounslow Central tube station.
Important recent developments and issues will be discussed at the meeting as well as an election taking place for convenors. All RMT members are welcome to attend.

This workshop is a must for all workplace RMT representatives. Go through the basics of being an effective workplace representative if you are new in the post - and polish up your skills if you are long in the tooth!
This training workshop will look at:
- the various duties of a union rep
- where you can get help, advice and support
- how the machinery of negotiation works
- what a 'referral' is and how to fill one in
- the role of your branch and your grades committee
And there will be useful materials for you to take away with you.

The meetings are held at 'The Ex-Servicemen’s Club' in Harvey Road, Leytonstone. This is approximately a two minute walk from Leytonstone underground station.
On Friday 12th February 2010, a demonstration will take place from 1pm - 2pm, at 100, Liverpool Street, London, EC2M, in support of Alberto Durango, a cleaner and rep who has been harassed and is being victimised for his union activities and is suspended and facing the sack by his employer Lancaster (Rentokil).
Alberto is a good friend of London RMT Bus Workers and they are asked to attend and give their support to him. For more information please click here

The next meeting of the Morden and Oval branch will take place on Wednesday 24th February from 5.30pm at The Wheatsheaf public house, Upper Tooting Road, London, SW17. It is situated next to Tooting Bec tube station.
