RMT's London Transport Regional Council and Finsbury Park branch invite you to a Reception to meet and support Tamar Katz, Israeli army refuser.
Thursday 5 March, 7-9pm, the Twelve Pins pub, next to Finsbury Park station.
Tamar Katz is a 19-year-old Israeli who has refused to serve in the Israeli army. Israel requires all young men and women to serve in its army, and Tamar has served three prison sentences for her refusal. She explains:
Campaign Against Climate Change – Trade Union Conference 7th March 2009,
Climate Change is an issue that should concern us all. On 7th March 2009, the Campaign Against Climate Change, to which RMT is affiliated is organising a national conference for trades unionists. Venue: Kings College, London
At what should be an interesting conference seminars, debates and workshops are planned on a series of issues including sustainable transport and whether coal and nuclear power have a role to play in a low carbon and sustainable future.
Registration at the conference is £10.
The Regional Council Executive meeting takes place at RMT head office (Unity House, 39 Chalton Street, near Euston/St.Pancras), and will be discussing:
- The decisions of the last Regional Council meeting and how we plan to implement them
- The current battles over pay job cuts and other issues
- Resolutions submitted to the next Regional Council meeting
- Correspondence
- RMT recruitment, retention and organising within the region
- Reports
- Other urgent issues
A mass meeting for London Underground, Metronet and TfL workers.
Speakers include: Bob Crow (RMT General Secretary) and Steve Hedley (RMT London Transport Regional Organiser), plus RMT reps.

The branch meets at the Old Star pub, 66 Broadway, opposite St James' Park tube station.

RMT, Piccadilly & District West Branch will be meeting at O’Neills pub near Earls Court from March 2009. Next meeting is 18th March.
Branch meets on 3rd Wednesday of every month at 16:00hrs.
