M door dispute resolved

M DOOR ALARM PROCEDURES, JUBILEE LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/10)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/158/15, 3rd July 2015), members will recall our dispute with London Underground over the ‘M’ door alarm activation procedure and managements’ proposals for the train to continue to the next station before a check is carried out following an ‘M’ Door Alarm. As a result, Train Operator members took industrial action short of a strike and from Thursday 9th July were instructed to carry out the arrangements whereby should the M Door Alarm be activated, then the operator is to retain safe control of the train and investigate the M Door Alarm after carrying out all safety rules.

Following a meeting with the Company and feedback from our Trains Safety Council Representatives this matter has been successfully resolved and management have withdrawn their stipulation that Train Operators should continue to the next station before checking an M Door Alarm.
