Circulars from RMT head office about issues in our region

RMT to ballot members at ISS (KAD Contract)

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS - ISS (KAD) (LUL/14/2)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/123/23, 3rd May 2023), an avoidance of disputes meeting took place with the Company and our negotiating team made progress in some areas as outlined below:

Pay

Cleaning Staff received uplifts in line with the applicable London Living Wage uplift, effective from 1st April in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Keolis Amey Docklands ballot begins

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2023 - KEOLIS AMEY DOCKLANDS (DLR/0001/KAD)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/193/23, 23rd June 2023), I can now advise that ballot papers will be posted out to all KAD members on Wednesday 19th July and the closing date for the ballot is Thursday 10th August 2023.

Station job cuts update

DEFENDING JOBS, PENSIONS & AGREEMENTS - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/208/23, 7th July 2023), further progress has been made following talks with LUL yesterday over the station staffing review. The Lead Officer has reported that 27 positions will be restored, 27 CSA2 positions will be updated to CSA1 and 10 part time station roles will be made full time. This will have the effect of restoring the proportion of weekend rest days to the level before the 600 job cuts process was imposed.

Euston Area ballot called due to unacceptable management behaviour

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, EUSTON AREA (VICTORIA CENTRAL GROUP) - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)

Since the suspension of industrial action last year (IR/115/22, 1st June 2022), industrial relations at Euston Area have deteriorated again due to an increase in management bullying and consistent mistreatment of members with disabilities or on long-term sickness.

LUL and TfL Additional Holiday Pay Agreements

Our Ref: LUL/9/8

5th July 2023

Dear RMT Member

CALCULATION OF HOLIDAY PAY

TRANSPORT FOR LONDON / LONDON UNDERGROUND

Recent discussions have taken place and an offer of agreement was received from TfL and LUL for the payment of overtime and other regular payments in holiday pay.

The National Executive Committee has taken the decision to accept the arrangement for holiday pay and I have advised the Company accordingly. A copy of the agreement is available to view here for TfL and LUL. [attached]

Show your solidarity with our cleaning grades

Dear colleague,

Show your solidarity with our cleaning grades

RMT has two petitions in circulation currently relating to campaigns being run to support our cleaning grades members. I'm asking all members to make sure they have signed - and shared - these petitions. We're an all-grades union and we look after each other. Getting involved in the campaign to win insourcing and improvements to the pay and conditions of our cleaning grades members is part of what it means to be an industrial union.

DLR pay update

RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2023 - KEOLIS AMEY DOCKLANDS (DLR/0001/KAD)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/166/23, 5th June 2023), the referendum concluded with members voting to reject the offer. The Lead Officer and negotiating team met again with the Company but despite their best efforts, no improved offer was forthcoming.

This situation is clearly unacceptable and while we remain available for further talks, the current impasse is of considerable consternation to members as reflected in a resolution received from DLR Branch.

Tube pay offer 'nowhere near meeting the aspirations of our members'

Dear Colleagues,

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2023 - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/0001)

Following a series of meetings between RMT and London Underground, management tabled the following offer in respect of your union's demands for an increase in pay and substantial improvements to members' terms and conditions:

RMT demands ABM's 'Project Lean' is stopped

21st June 2023

Dear RMT Member,

CHANGES TO WORK LOCATIONS AND ADDITIONAL WORKLOADS (PROJECT LEAN) – ABM (LUL)

I have received reports from your RMT Reps that ABM are calling you into meetings where members feel pressurized into accepting more work at more locations. This is taking place as part of a review of responsibilities and work locations which the Company is calling ‘Project Lean’.
