Gants Hill Station, Hands Off London Transport Event

Central Line East Branch will be holding a Hands Off London Transport event on Friday 27th March at 16.00 hrs at Gants Hill station. This is in protest of the impending closure of the stations ticket office due in July. We will be handing out leaflets to the public any help would be appreciated. Please also pass the details on to anybody who may wish to support this.

As part of the on-going campaign against ticket office closures and staffing cuts on London Underground, HOLT - Hands Off London Transport and Tube workers' union RMT are organising a London-wide day of action.

Transfer Policy – London Underground

Further to my previous Circular (IR/332/14, 15th December 2014), Central Line East Branch and Camden 3 Branch submitted correspondence over the Company’s refusal to honour its transfer procedure for station staff. It is alleged that the Company is refusing to fill vacancies and instead are covering duties with new-recruit staff on fixed-term contracts on an over-establishment basis.

The Lead Officer has written to the Company regarding this matter and it is listed on the agenda for the next Stations Functional Council meeting. I will keep you informed of all further developments.

A Message to LU Station Staff - Draft BNS/Rosters: Defend our Staffing Levels!

This week, management are publishing the draft Business Needs Schematics (BNS) and rosters for Fit for the Future - Stations. These are being presented to your union reps at a local ('level one') meeting, and reps will then consult you and take your views back to a feedback meeting. The BNS shows where management think staff are needed on the station. The roster shows the days, hours and rest days that staff are expected to follow.

Vicky Hayward Reinstated

We are delighted to report that Vicky Hayward is to be reinstated to her job as London Underground CSA. LUL sacked Vicky last year using CCTV "evidence" that was not available to Vicky or her rep, but following a meeting yesterday between the union's General Secretary and LUL's Managing Director, Regional Organiser John Leach advises that the company has agreed to overturn this decision. We are pleased that LUL has allowed fairness to prevail.

Join Us: Leafleting Against Closure Of Leytonstone Station Ticket Office

Join activists from RMT Central Line East and Hands Off London Transport to leaflet and petition passengers at Leytonstone station against ticket office closures and staffing cuts.

Local Labour MP John Cryer will also be joining this action.

London Underground wants to close every ticket office on the Tube and cut nearly 1,000 jobs; united action by workers and communities can stop them!
