LU Olympics Disputes Explained - Casualisation and Cleaners dispute
Submitted by admin on 4 August, 2012 - 22:57Olympic Working Dispute
RMT and London Underground have an agreement regarding Olympics working. We are committed to sticking to this agreement, but have had reason to be concerned that management may not do so. We have therefore taken the step of calling 'action short of strikes' in the form of an instruction not to work outside your job description.
Station Minimum Numbers
Submitted by admin on 1 August, 2012 - 21:28To help keep track of what minimum numbers for stations should be please see the attached figures.
RMT members on LU are currently in dispute about ICSA's being used as minimum numbers.
If you have concerns that a station isn't safely staffed, please contact the local rep - or if you don't know who that is we can find out for you. Just email us at info@rmtlondoncalling.org.uk

Following consultation with our lead officer and representatives, we instruct all London Underground members to take action short of strike action starting at 00:01 on Friday 27 July and continuing until further notice, as follows:
- All members to not co-operate in any way with the counting of Incident Customer Service Assistants (ICSAs) towards the minimum number of staff on duty for a station to be open to passengers.
- Members acting as ICSAs to withdraw from the station and refuse to be counted
Olympic Special Stations And Revenue Newsletter
Submitted by admin on 27 July, 2012 - 12:12The deal secured by your union guarantees the existing protection of the framework agreement. The RMT alone argued that we were already being asked to work hard enough without selling any hard won protection for a few quid. If you feel that you have been asked to work outside of this agreement or been treated unfavourably then advise your local RMT rep who will take it up immediately . Remember that the framework agreement is there for a reason, it protects our safety, welfare and future at work. You have a right and a responsibility to refuse any duty which breaks that agreement. Only a fool breaks the twelve hour rule.

Tube Bosses Want Driverless Jubilee Line In Three Years, Unstaffed Stations And Mass Ticket Office Closures Across Network
Submitted by admin on 17 July, 2012 - 23:53The Document is attached below
"RMT is demanding cast-iron assurances that this ... be dumped for good and we will have no hesitation in taking the action required to stop this" - Bob Crow
A SHOCKING INTERNAL LU document, released by tube union RMT today, exposes a secret agenda to move the entire Jubilee Line to driverless operation within three years, trialled later this year - with the other deep level tube lines to follow - without even train captains on board, to run stations unstaffed and to close ticket offices the length of the line.
The blueprint, drawn up by the senior management of LU under pressure from Mayor Boris Johnson to meet his manifesto commitment of “driverless operation”, was mapped out towards the end of last year for implementation, RMT believes, after the Mayoral election without a shred of consultation with the trade unions or the recognized structures.
The document is called “Deep Tube Railway – Generic Operations and Maintenance Concept – 2020” and its core proposals are:

London Underground's Breaches Of Casualisation Statement
Submitted by admin on 6 July, 2012 - 17:15From RMT General Secretary Bob Crow
“In response to LUL’s statement given on Thursday 5 July at 16:00 at ACAS, RMT is not arguing about the use of ICSAs working on stations alongside established staff. We are, however, totally opposed to ICSAs being counted towards minimum numbers for keeping a station open or for evacuation purposes.
On 2 April 2008, Gerry Duffy, LUL’s Director of Employee Relations, signed an agreement with RMT and TSSA which clearly states that the minimum staffing level for each station is:
