Every Job Matters Dispute ACAS Report 3

Dear RMT members

Today Friday 31st January ,We attended the 4th day of exploratory talks this week with LUL,called by ACAS . It's clear that now after all this time LUL understand that we will only discuss/consult or negotiate change in LUL for Fit for the Future Stations or for that matter anything else whilst the management are not imposing those same changes at the same time.

We have proof that they have done so by issuing the form HR1 on the union , by activating the severance trawl , by starting E learning on the LUL intranet .By imposing the changes by the back door.

Keep the faith - OT ban is working

Mad dogs and GSMs -don’t work Sundays

The OT ban is having a big impact on stations across the combine. LUL are struggling to keep stations open and are running at minimum numbers almost all day, every day
The effort our members are putting in is hugely appreciated and causing managers big headaches.
Local managers, under pressure from on high, are trying to interpret the framework agreement in a way that they say we have to move our shift, rest days or start finish times to help them out
The irony of their request for our goodwill assistance is lost on them.

Workplace Violence Survey For London Underground Station Workers

An email has been sent out to via internal email to London Underground station staff regarding workplace violence and staff assaults.

Please be as honest with your answers as possible. Although the survey asks for your grade it is completely anonymous and will not be used to identify staff in any way.

Where Are Our Thermals?

Due to the massive response to, and the damning results of, my survey last year, London Underground were shamed into taking our Thermal Comfort seriously.

Unfortunately, they haven’t taken it seriously enough – as you are about to discover.

LU recently employed various people and/or departments to look at ‘The Thermal Comfort of Operational Staff Who Work Outside’. During this exercise our uniform was tested to determine its TOG rating.

Here’s what a London Underground HSE advisor said.
