CBS Outdoor Bargaining Agreement

We note the report from our Regional Organiser, and note that our branch is discussing with our representatives a proposed draft bargaining agreement. In line with our Decision No.G309, 23 February 2012, the completed draft is to be placed in front of the GGC.

London Transport Regional Council and Camden 3 branch to be advised.

CBS Outdoor Industrial Action Stopped Following Improved Pay Offer

Further to our previous decision GWW 2 May 2012, calling an industrial action ballot of our CBS Outdoor members, we note that the employer has revised its stance, and is now offering 1.75% pay rise (increased from 1.5%) pay rise and an Olympic bonus of £850 (increased from £500).

CBS Outdoor Members To Be Balloted For Strike Action Following Derisory Pay Offer

That we note the offer from CBS Outdoor of a 1.5% pay rise and a £500 Olympics bonus.

We support our Regional Organiser’s view that this offer is derisory and comes nowhere near meeting our aspirations. We therefore instruct the General Secretary to:

  • Immediately conduct a ballot of all our CBS Outdoor members for strike action andaction short of strike

Pay Update

Update: London Underground has revised its offer to four years: 5% this year, RPI+0.5% (minimum 2%) for years 2, 3 and 4.

RMT workplace representatives will be discussing this at a meeting on Tuesday 4 October. You work hard, your employer makes money from your efforts, and you have bills to pay. So your union organises members to win better pay and working conditions. RMT aims to achieve:

  • above-inflation pay rises - anything else is a pay cut in real terms, as your outgoings increase faster than your income;

RMT Reluctantly Accepts CBS Outdoor Pay Offer

That we note the pay offer from CBS Outdoor and the report from our Regional Organiser.

We accept the Regional Organiser’s view that the pay offer (1.3% backdated to April) is poor, but that we should reluctantly accept it. We note that there has also been some progress on working conditions: negotiations on a new roster pattern, new vans, and better training; and on the MMTA grade which management have now agreed to backdate for all staff qualified or unqualified (through lack of training) for six months.

CBS Outdoor: hours cut without loss of pay

Circular No. IR/253/09: RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2009 – CBS OUTDOOR

On the recommendation of our negotiating team, the General Grades Committee has accepted a reduction in the working week of one hour in return for a freeze on all current pay rates.

Whilst far from perfect, negotiators took the view that this was the best position possible given the general malaise in the advertising industry. Indeed the company, which is having to be bankrolled by its parent company in the USA, were originally demanding a pay freeze with no cut in hours.

Regional Organiser's report: Job cuts, snow, CBS Outdoor and more ...

[1] The RMT held a protest today outside London Underground head offices to protest at the first wave of job cuts which comprises of 1000 jobs. Around thirty RMT activists turned out to demand that those responsible for running up the massive TfL/LU defecit of over £2.5 billion be sacked and not the workers who are being sacked because of senior management incompetence.

RMT to Ballot CBS Outdoor Members - Defend Brendan Judge

RMT Head Office Circular No. IR/18/09 - 29th January 2009 DISMISSAL OF BRENDAN JUDGE – CBS OUTDOOR NOTICE OF BALLOT FOR INDUSTRIAL ACTION

As RMT members you would have more likely heard of the disgraceful decision by CBS Outdoor to sack Union Representative, Brendan Judge, just before Christmas. CBS Outdoor members are understandably very angry about what has happened and have demanded action to get Brendan reinstated.
